# Prerequisites

**Before you start using the Demand API, make sure you have completed the following steps**

**Important:** Complete these steps before testing the Demand API.

## Checklist

| Check | Requirement |
|  --- | --- |
| ☑ | Registered as a Booking.com **Managed Affiliate Partner**. |
| ☑ | Access to **Partner Centre** (provided by your Booking.com Account Manager after signing the agreed contract). |
| ☑
 | In [Partner Centre](https://spadmin.booking.com/partner/login-v3.html), generated:
* A [valid API key token](/demand/docs/development-guide/authentication/#api-key-management).
* Your `X-Affiliate-Id`

 |
| ☑ | Open the **Developer Portal** to access the Try-out console. |


Keep your API key and `X-Affiliate-Id` secure. Do not share them publicly or commit them to version control.
